# ermahgerd documentation

Run Workers-compatible applications with Wrangler, durable data services,
queues, AI bindings, and built-in observability.

## Choose your starting point

### Use the managed service

The operator runs the infrastructure. You manage your organizations,
applications, data, and team.

[Get started with managed ermahgerd](/managed/) ·
[Use the tenant console](/build/console/)

### Host your own installation

Run the same platform on infrastructure you own. Start with a local
demonstration or prepare a public Ubuntu installation.

[Self-hosting guide](/self-hosted/) ·
[Local demo](/self-hosted/local-demo/) · [Public hosting](/self-hosted/public-hosting/)

### Operate the platform

Maintain an existing installation: support customers, inspect service health,
manage certificates, and plan maintenance. These guides require operator access.

[Platform operations](/operations/) ·
[Operator console](/operations/console/) · [Architecture](/operations/architecture/)

## Build applications on either installation

The same application APIs and organization workflows apply to both managed and
self-hosted installations. Start with your own connection details, then follow
the shared guides.

[Connect Wrangler](/build/connect-wrangler/) ·
[Deploy a Worker](/build/workers/) ·
[Protect Worker traffic](/build/worker-security/) ·
[Browse all application guides](/build/)

The application guides cover storage, databases, key-value, queues, Durable
Objects, schedules, static assets, Images, AI, vector search, Access, quotas,
and application telemetry.

ermahgerd is a self-hostable, multi-tenant PaaS. The current reference
installations run in one region without automatic replication or failover.
Compatibility and capacity limits are documented with each capability.
